Industrial Safety Shelters have been effectively used for:
- Chemical Storage
- Chlorination / Dechlorination
- Deicing
- Equipment Protection
- Fire Protection
- Safety Showers
- Spill Containment
Industrial safety spans a wide range of applications—from chemical storage and fire protection to spill containment and beyond. What unites these environments is the demand for purpose-built solutions that can endure harsh use, resist corrosion, and perform reliably in damp, demanding conditions. Openchannelflow Industrial Safety Shelters rise to that challenge, delivering rugged, customizable protection engineered for the toughest industrial environments—making them the clear choice for serious safety applications.
SHELTER: Corrosion and damp conditions are the bane of standard stick and metal construction shelters, but not fiberglass! Fiberglass is a naturally resistant to the effect of most forms of corrosion, with the ability to customize resin formulations to almost any type and degree of exposure. Fiberglass is also highly resistant to dents, abrasion, cracking, and peeling – problems common in metal and stick built shelters.
HVAC: The full gamut of heating and ventilation systems can be factory installed into Openchannelflow Industrial Safety Shelters. Heat can be electric fan force, natural gas, or even steam powered. Ventilation can be powered supply or exhaust, passive vents, or wind powered roof or wall turbines. For more demanding applications, closed loop environmental conditioning systems can even be integrated.
ELECTRICAL: While not all industrial safety shelters require lighting or power, but for those that do, Openchannelflow can provide fully wired systems – with everything from switches / conduit / wiring, to buck/boost transformers. Load centers can be NEMA 1 up to NEMA 4X, single phase or three phase, main breaker or main lug. Where conduit is provided, it is usually rigid PVC, but IMT, EMT, and other rigid metallic conduits can be factory installed.
LIGHTING: Lighting is another area where needs will vary. LED fixtures are common inside the shelters, but backup, emergency and exit light can also be prewired. Outside lighting can be provide for operator access, hazard signaling, vandalism prevention, and more.
In applications where power isn’t available, Openchannelflow offers molded-in skylights, door windows, and even fixed and sliding wall windows.
SHELTER ACCESS: Single doors, double doors, roll-up doors, roof hatches bulkheads, formed openings, and dog-houses are all available to allow a maximum of operator access.
Multiple doors / dissimilar doors present no problem to Openchannelflow’s modular shelter construction. Simply let one of our design engineers know what you need, and we’ll take care of it!
Often overlooked, exterior colors can help operators know the function of an industrial shelter without the need to ever enter it. Yellow is commonly used for safety showers, red for fire protection equipment, purple for reuse water, and so on.
